The ethereal ambient track “Work” from Johnny Hostile’s debut album ‘(dys)function’ is set to be released on April 12. As an extension of the exploratory approach he initiated, 4 remixers had a “carte blanche” to work around the piece in order to propose their own versions.
The French producer Rone, the London musician Penelope Trappes, the Brazilian-English duo Mixhell with Igor Cavalera of Sepultura, and Pop Noire’s new signature Cirrial have lent the exercice of remixing the track.
Because a special attention is paid to the visual dimension, another interpretation of the piece ‘Work’ is also suggested through the manipulation of images: the directors Antoine Carlier, Jehnny Beth, Valery Meurée and Laurent Ripoll has directed images primed to go with each remix.
