Words to the Blind
When Savages meets the japanese band Bo Ningen in 2013 to write a ‘simultaneous sonic poem’ — inspired by the Dadaist concept of the ‘Simultaneous Poem’ — entitled ‘Words to the blind’, and perform it in a ferocious battle of improv, noise and poetry.
Simultaneous poem is a Dadaist concept — a situation where poems are recited simultaneously onstage in different languages — or as leading Dada artist Hugo Ball says : ‘A contrapuntal recitative in which three or more voices speak, sing, whistle, etc., simultaneously in such a way that the resulting combinations account for the total effect of the work, elegiac, funny or bizarre.’
